Is the New Glock Commercial the Best Ever?

December 16, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

In a new commercial that’s sure to get some liberal panties in a bunch, Glock has held nothing back. It’s amazing how conservative companies that liberals consider so controversial (like Glock or Daniel Defense) make such “safe” advertisements and are still called out as controversial.

There are no partially clad women, no violent altercations, no edgy language… but somehow because these gun manufacturers make guns, they are inherently controversial. Newsflash, folks! If we didn’t have gun manufacturers we wouldn’t have guns, and if we didn’t have guns what would be the point of our RIGHT to bear arms?

Saying that gun manufacturers are controversial simply because they make guns is like saying that our rights are controversial. It’s preposterous.

Anyway, it’s nice to see gun companies like Glock and Daniel Defense working so hard to make good advertising. This Glock commercial may be the best commercial going right now, and it will likely get little to no air time on local stations. Creative nonetheless!

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

If someone ONLY looked at the part about the “Militia” in the 2nd Amendment, then they would be seriously overlooking the INTENT of the document that the Founding Fathers had. They were breaking free from a government who HAD bans on who could own weapons and in doing so were able to keep control over the populace. Because at the time you needed to either worry about attacks or needed to eat, EVERYONE in the Colonies had weapons whereas in England this wasn’t the case and the tyranny went on with the people unable to revolt if they so desired.

The Founding Fathers wanted to MAKE SURE that the government of the United States would NEVER have to power to control the populace by force, making it so that EVERYONE had the RIGHT to own a weapon.

“When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

You have misread the Bill of Rights , as have many others. It states “The right of the people”..

This has always meant an individual right, and that has been confirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. Quit trying to use your English tricks to deny us of our rights.

Awesome commercial (hope you can sense my sarcasm)…you end your commentary with references to how creative this commercial is. It takes no creativity to place a scantily clad, beautiful female and, what is commonly referred to as “low comedy”, together to create an advertisement. The fact that it is for a gun company is not remarkable in any way. The fact that it has invited such politically charged diatribes by individuals attempting to speak intelligently, as is “evidenced” by attempts to use their “fancy words”, is the true comedy of the commercial. This commercial is NOT, nor was it intended to, spark an intelligent, political debate about our constitutional right to bear arms. Rather, it was intended to entice gun enthusiasts who are statistically still male, despite recent attempts to skew data otherwise to include a “growing” female purchasing population, to buy yet another gun for their hunting and protection “needs”. Also, should the information about the growing number of females brandishing weaponry be correct, I assure you that no female will purchase a weapon based on this advertisement. It is, in the end, merely another “beer commercial for the guys”. It has made my day, though, to read the enlightened writing on this site. I do hope it will be acceptable to use this in several of the classes I teach on the use of propaganda to sway weaker minds. Thanks.

Will all these gun supporters read the ENTIRE Second Amendment. . .I believe it says we
have the right to bear arms to support an armed militia. Has anyone seen (or been a
member of) a militia recently? And is it my imagination or have gun deaths skyrocketed in
    recent months?

    • December 28, 2013 at 10:42 pm

Yes … It is your imagination. No one is forcing you to have a weapon.

Given the circumstances in the commercial, what better alternative would you suggest ?

Irony..we are told NOT to judge All Muslims by the action of a few lunatics…but on the other hand we are encouraged to judge All Gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics
Question is how is that supposed to work

Which is precisely what the White House “Christian Socialist” does not want to happen
and which is why his goal is disarming the honest and law abiding people….
