After two dismal election cycles it seems to me that trying to adjust the rearview mirror will not do it.
Over the last decades fundamental changes have occurred in the US, most of them for the worse. From education to industrial base development, from job opportunities to job exporting, from constitutional awareness to wanton violation of the Constitution all that while national defense ability and military doctrine tumbled. Socially and structurally great changes have taken place as well.
Financial responsibility is not longer in existence.
The process of returning the ship of state to the American tack will require a national people convergence under a highly capable and clean leadership.
None of those now leading could possibly fit the bill.

I’ve thot about this – conservative right down the line. I would have liked to see it and maybe we would have won. The problem is we have too damned many Americans who want a welfare state. When Romney was speaking out against 47 percent of Americans on food stamps up from 35 percent when Obama was elected I thot this is going to help Obama. Then you add voter fraud and the fact that 3 million. probably Republicans, didn’t vote and Bang! Obama gets another four years and we loose seats in both Houses. Fortunately, we kept the House. Unfortunately, Boehner is going to roll over for Obama in the end. America is screwed – not sure what mid term elections will produce. If Americans are squeezed by Obamacare, higher taxes, more and more onerous govt regulations, unemployment, possible recession, etc., then Republicans may gain seats in the Senate and House. We shall see. Republicans are going to have to start showing some balls and quit letting the Democrats demonize them all the time. Had Romney and the GOP leveled some hard hitting attacks against Obama on Benghazi and the mess in the Middle East and his socialist policies it might have made a difference – Romney made the same mistake as McCain – playing Mr. Nice Guy all the time.

Make the office of President of US a six (6) year term. Only allowed to serve one term. That way it would allow the President to focus on being a Pres and not a perpetual campaigner.
